Ladies who lunch.

March 10, 2014

your own personal invitation to an afternoon with me and my Emilys...

At work, we like to set aside one day a week (where possible) for a 'girls lunch', where we can get out of the office and have a catch up.

This week, Emily and I chose to introduce the other Emily to Pizza Union.

Although we'd only been taken here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, we realised instantly that it was a pretty cool place to eat.

When you go in you do have to be pretty speedy at grabbing a table, but we're usually pretty sneaky and always successful!

Next, grab a menu. You'll struggle not to dribble whilst you ponder over the delicious pizzas and assortment of sides.

This place is almost like a fast food joint in that you queue up to place your order, and grab any drinks on the way. It's also extremely good value for money, with pizzas averaging at about £5.50 (and they're huge!)

We were all fans of the San Pellegrino Sparkling orange, with the very hygienic lid to protect the top of your can!

Once you've ordered, you're given a TGI's style buzzer and are left to enjoy girly gossip and catch ups at your table until it vibrates and lights up, demanding your attention.

Emily has been trying to train herself to like Olives for at least a week now, so treated us all to a glass to keep us going.

I'm not entirely sure how successful this training is proving...

...but she looks happy enough!

But I can assure you we were all even happier when this happened:

Time to collect your pizza from the pick up point, and marvel over the huge stone pizza ovens.

Delicious!

Not only is the pizza here extremely tasty, but every little aspect of the dining experience contributes to making this place the hidden gem that it is.

Safe to say, Pizza Union was a success and enjoyed by all - we will definitely be returning and I recommend that you do too!
